Langley Abbey Wedding Photographer

Ash & Mandy are from Norfolk and did originally book their photographer in Norfolk. But even the best laid plans don’t always work out and due to unforeseen circumstances their original Langley Abbey Wedding Photographer was unable to capture their big day. Following an internet search they chose me as their Norfolk Wedding Photographer, which was ace! I had never been to Norfolk before and so naturally I jumped at the chance!

Fast forward 8 weeks and one Friday evening we were on our way to a long weekend in Norfolk in the camper with a beautiful wedding to shoot along the way. We stopped off at Langley Abbey in the evening to catch a glimpse of the Abbey and saw a helicopter across the road. Turns out that Abbey Langley is also host to Norfolk Polo and we later found out that a certain Royal had been playing polo there that day!

I hadn’t managed to speak much to Ash & Mandy in the run up to their wedding day so arranged to meet up at Monks Barn, their accommodation for the weekend. As soon as I met them I knew we were in for a great day, absolutely lovely couple and I felt that we were getting on like a house on fire. We talked through the plans for their big day and then headed off to our campsite for the night which was only down the road in Loddon. Magical place!

After a relaxing stay at the Loddon Mill Arts campsite I woke up on Saturday morning to more of that glorious sunshine we’d been encountering for a while. I knew we were in for a hot one! I headed off to meet Mandy and her crew at Monks Barn. Ash and his groomsmen were also there and after helping defrost most of their button holes (a first for me! haha) they headed off to the Abbey with the couple’s gorgeous furry Hope.

Bridal prep continued at the barn where Nichola J. Lowe worked her magic on Mandy’s hair and Michelle Bennett was the make-up fairy. Once Mandy was in her Morilee UK wedding dress and wore her gorgeous Freya Rose shoes she looked like a real life princess. I also thought it was lovely that even their cute doggies had their own wedding gear which was from Sweet William and Titch Dog Design.

The ceremony

Ash & Mandy’s ceremony at Langley Abbey was really lovely. There were their lovely doggies at the front, a super cute little flower girl (trying to blow out the candles. A lot haha), beautiful bridesmaids, touching readings and a lot of teary guests. There was A LOT of love and some super sweet nervous giggles about. AND it was proper hot! 😉

After the ceremony we headed into the courtyard for some cool drinks and some mingling and to listen to some music played by the very talented Gary Nock. I then got to spend some quality time with Mandy & Ash & Hope away from their guests to capture some beautiful portraits.

Anyway, see for yourself – here are some of the highlights from Ash & Mandy’s romantic wedding day at Langley Abbey – and much love to Mr. & Mrs. Couzsins for letting me share their perfect day xoxo

Anyone else getting married in Norfolk – I absolutely loved being a Langley Abbey Wedding Photographer so look me up and gimme a shout. I’d absolutely love to shoot another beeeaaautiful wedding there and spend the rest of the weekend on the beaches x

North Wales Wedding Photographer at Tyn Dwr Hall
I absolutely love being a North Wales Wedding Photographer at Tyn Dwr Hall in Llangollen, one of the area's most beautiful wedding venues. Emma & Dan first met when Dan was looking for a lodger. Fast forward a couple (or 10.....) years and 3 gorgeous girls later and here we all are watching them exchange their vows at St. Collens Church in Llangollen. We'd had a right laugh at their family pre-wedding shoot and it was so much fun getting to know the couple and their 3 little free spirited girls. I honestly could not wait to see them again as their North Wales Wedding Photographer  at Tyn Dwr Hall. A day fu ...

Welsh Wedding Traditions
St. Dwynwen's Day As a relaxed wedding photographer based in North Wales I am of course super interested in Welsh Wedding Traditions. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about Welsh Wedding Traditions is probably St. Dwynwen's Day and Llanddwyn Island not far from Newborough Beach on Anglesey. It's where Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers, lived in the fifth Century.  Legend has it that she was one of the prettiest of Brychan Brycheiniog’s 24 daughters. She fell in love with a prince called Maelon Dafodrill, but unfortunately her father had already arranged for her to marry someone else. Dwynwen was ...
